As part of the START UP PACKAGE each member of MFS will be encouraged to complete the following sessions prior to the start of training.
FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREEN (30 minute session)
Proper movement assessment through the Functional Movement Screen will address any muscle imbalance you have coming in to any of our programs.
The FMS is intended for individuals with no current pain compliant or known injury. It is the movement equivalent of a medical screening for basic health.
The movement tests place you in positions where limitations (or weaknesses) and asymmetries (or imbalances) become noticeable if appropriate mobility and motor control is not utilized. The scoring system provides our coaches with an effective baseline to devise a strategy to correct any imbalances that we may identify to avoid injury and accelerate your results in training.
NUTRITION CONSULTATION (30 minute session)
With better nutrition, your body functions better and has a greater ability to heal and strengthen itself.
Here at MFS we think of nutrition and training as going hand in hand. Focusing on each simultaneously will yield optimal results regardless of your goals - gaining muscle, becoming leaner, athletic conditioning, sports specific training, etc.
As part of your start up we will conduct a free body composition analysis with target setting calculations (body weight, BMI, RMR, Body Fat %).
In addition we offer nutrition planning to all new members that is trackable with myfitnesspal.com to keep you on track and accountable throughout your training plan.
GOAL SETTING AND OVERALL EVALUATION (30 minute session)
Lastly, but most importantly, we will take the time to talk about your individual fitness goals in depth. We will discuss where you currently are in your fitness, where you want to be, and the approach we are going to take to get you there.
